Knox Community Hospital has hired a new Physician Assistant for its Urgent Care Team.
A Granville native, McSweeny has worked as a Physician Assistant in an Emergency Department for the last 20 years. He has an undergraduate degree in microbiology from Miami University, a certificate in Physician Assistant Studies from Kettering College of Medical Arts (now known as Kettering Health Care College), and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.
McSweeny says he enjoys spending time with family, playing soccer, trail running, and watching the Buffalo Bills.
KCH Urgent Care, 1490 Coshocton Ave in Mount Vernon, is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m Monday-Friday and weekends, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Staff there treat everything from sinus infections, broken bones and cuts that need stitches to allergic reactions, minor burns, sprains and minor accidents.
