MOUNT VERNON – Patrolman Sarah Wheeler of the Mount Vernon Police Department won the department's Thomas Bartlett Award.
The award is used to recognize outstanding performance in the line of duty.
"This award is centered on the key words....Integrity, Loyalty, and Dedication. Patrolman Sarah Wheeler was recognized for using these attributes in her tenacity to get narcotics off the streets," the city said in a Facebook post.
