KNOX COUNTY – The Knox County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is proud to announce the appointment of Amy Seward as the new deputy director. Seward brings to the position a wealth of knowledge and experience in emergency management and preparedness.
Before joining the EMA, Seward spent 17 months serving Knox Public Health as their Emergency Preparedness coordinator and Safe Communities coordinator. Before working at Knox Public Health, she dedicated seven and a half years in a civilian support role with the Ohio National Guard’s Family Readiness Office. In both roles, Seward displayed exceptional leadership skills, a clear understanding of crisis management and a strong commitment to community safety.
Originally from the area, Seward lives outside Fredericktown with her husband, Andrew, and their two sons, Miles and Emerson. She graduated from Fredericktown High School and later received her degree in agricultural education from The Ohio State University.
“Amy’s deep-rooted connection to the community and impressive background in emergency preparedness makes her a perfect fit for the role of deputy director,” EMA Director James DeChant said. “We believe that her skills and experience will be invaluable to the agency and to the people of Knox County. We are thrilled to have her on our team.”
Seward’s appointment as deputy director is effective immediately. As part of the agency’s leadership team, she will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Knox County EMA safeguards our community during emergencies and remains prepared for any crisis.
