LANCASTER – Sitterley, Vandervoort & Nixon Ltd. has expanded its Central Ohio reach by adding experienced litigator Sara M. Valentine as a principal member. Valentine joins Sitterley, Vandervoort & Nixon Ltd.’s Trial Practice Group, where she will lead the firm’s Civil Litigation Group. Valentine’s addition will ensure the firm can expand the scope of representation in the Central Ohio and Southeastern Ohio regions.
Before joining Sitterley, Vandervoort & Nixon, Valentine practiced with a boutique litigation firm in Columbus and a large Cleveland-based firm’s office in downtown Columbus.
Valentine focuses her legal practice in numerous areas, including property disputes, construction litigation, solar litigation, trade secrets and non-competition litigation, medical malpractice, insurance litigation, personal injury, product liability and complex litigation for plaintiffs and defendants.

Valentine received her bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University while working for numerous local elected officials. She earned her juris doctor degree from Capital University Law School by completing the evening program, working as a full-time employee during the day and attending Capital University Law School classes during the evening hours. Valentine has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine each year since 2020 and is also a member of several professional organizations.
