MOUNT VERNON – Andrea Kaye Gantz, 54, of Mount Vernon, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.
Andrea was born Jan. 3, 1969, in Mansfield, Ohio, to John and Karen (Weekley) Nordyke.
Andrea graduated from Mount Vernon High School and the Knox County Joint Vocational Center. Later, she earned an associate degree from the University of Phoenix in health care administration.
She married Melvin L. Gantz Jr. on July 20, 1991.
Working in health care for most of her life, she worked for hospice for three years. She attended Covenant Christian and enjoyed camping and watching "Grey’s Anatomy." She loved animals and caring for children.
Andrea will be deeply missed by her husband; two daughters, Naomi (Brandon) Gantz and Amy Gantz; her mother; brother, Bryan Nordyke; brother-in-law, Lonnie (Kim) Ferrell; sister-in-law, Karissa (Luke) Fowler; and extended family, Maria (Amanda) Hester.
Andrea was preceded in death by her father, her brother, Kevin Nordyke, and a deeply loved dog, Bear.
Friends may call Saturday, June 10, from 10-11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home – Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Tim Overly officiating. Burial will be at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Online tributes may be made at RobertsFuneralHome.com.
