MOUNT VERNON – Former Ohio Congressman Jim Renacci will speak at the Knox County Republic Party Chairman’s Reception about closed primaries and “party raiding” on May 23.
The Knox County Republican Party invites the community to attend the reception at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at Mazza's Restaurant.
Renacci will discuss "party raiding," which is the practice of members of one party voting in another party’s primary election. He wants Ohio to strengthen its election laws to secure the primary system and stop party raiding.
This free event is hosted by the Knox County Republican Party and is open to the public. Local Republicans are encouraged to attend as attendance supports the Knox County Republican Party and its local candidates.
Free appetizers, a cash bar and a split-the-pot drawing will be available. Doors open at 6 p.m. Speakers begin at 6:30 p.m.
