Cheerleading
BEREA – Kaleb Pierce, a graduate of Fredericktown/Highland High School, is one of 14 newcomers to join the Baldwin Wallace University cheerleading team for 2022-23.
Coach Liv Hoysak, who is in her first season, welcomes seven seniors, seven juniors, two sophomores and six freshmen to the inaugural squad.
Scholarships
BEREA – Local students were among over 700 students who earned scholarships at Baldwin Wallace University this fall. The university has a long history of scholarship support from alumni, faculty, trustees and friends. Over 430 named scholarships provide more than $4.7 million to help students attend, persist and graduate from BW. In addition, they carry on the donors' legacies through the lives of the students who receive their support. The scholarships vary in requirements, with many specifying financial need, a course of study, involvement on campus or a commitment to excellence in a particular field. The following local students earned scholarships:
Mount Vernon – Leslie Bell, a graduate of Mount Vernon High School majoring in arts management and entrepreneurship, earned the Lloyd & Mildred Hoffman Scholarship and the Suzanne Claflin Strew Dance Scholarship; Elizabeth Gifford, a graduate of Mount Vernon High School majoring in sustainability and management, earned the Richard & Antoinette Eizember Scholarship.
Fredericktown – Kaleb Pierce, a graduate of Highland High School majoring in business analytics, computer science and psychology, earned the Alpha Sigma Lambda Scholarship.
BW offers a wide range of financial support to its students - more than $52 million for the 2022-23 academic year.
