MOUNT VERNON – David Ray Craig, 74, of Gahanna and formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed peacefully Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, at Sage Park Assisted Living & Memory Care in Gahanna.

Dave was born Nov. 14, 1948, in Athens, Ohio, the son of the late Robert & Ethel (Liskey) Craig. Dave graduated from high school, and would go on to join the United States Marine Corps. He served during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged for his service.

Returning home, he started his own business as a computer software developer.

Left to cherish Dave’s memory are his loving children Cassandra (Joseph) Warren and Adam (Alex Timm) Craig; grandsons Andrew & William Warren and Christopher Timm; brother Jerry (Jean) Craig; sister Annette (Chuck) Hanlon; and his nieces and nephews.

When Dave wasn’t working, he enjoyed being on the golf course. He also enjoyed motorcycles and cars in his younger years. He loved listening to music, specifically Bob Dylan, CCR, the Eagles and Dire Straits. He enjoyed watching cooking shows on the Food Network. Dave had a sweet tooth and enjoyed snacking, especially on Werther's Originals soft caramels. Dave was ornery, and a spitfire, but he was also the most loving, sensitive and caring individual. He loved his family and was proud of his service to his country.

Services celebrating Dave’s life will take place Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 St. Rt. 61, Sunbury, OH 43074, where family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Graveside Services will take place at 1 p.m. at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens, 18260 Coshocton Ave., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
