HOWARD – Chester Lynn Engle Sr, 87, of Howard passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at his home in Apple Valley.
Chester was born January 8, 1935, in Glenville, W.V., to Glen Roy and Eva (Taylor) Engle.
He married JoAnne Gimple, who passed in 1992, then Janice L. Atchison on May 29, 1993.
He worked at Essroc Co, Delaware, OH, and United Precast Inc in Mount Vernon. He retired in 1992. He also enjoyed camping and traveling. He attended St Lukes Catholic Church and was a member of the Masons for many years. He was a Past Master of Delaware Lodge 18. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture for his family.
Chester will be deeply missed by his wife; children Debra (Michael) Daugherty of Wilmington, Chester L (Mary) Engle of Canfield and Rebecca (Jeff) Mayhabb of Newark. Mary Beth Atchison, James (Billie) Atchison, Thomas (Angel) Atchison; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Chester was preceded in death by his first wife and one granddaughter.
Services will be at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m. with tributes by the family and Masonic rites. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association.
