New Directions, Woodlands awarded grants to support crime victims

Local victim service providers for Knox County and area residents received more than $87,000 in grants through the 2022 Family Violence Prevention and Services Act program.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced earlier this month that 67 local victim service providers have been awarded a total of nearly $3.6 million to safely support victims of crime.

A $44,703 grant was awarded to New Directions, which provides resources for the safety, healing, and freedom of individuals who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault..

The Woodlands, a private, nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive prevention, education and treatment services to residents of Licking County and surrounding counties, including Knox, was awarded $42,522.
