HUNTINGTON, Ind. – A milestone was reached as the the Mount Vernon Nazarene University women’s volleyball team (25-6, 10-6 CL) defeated Huntington University (14-16, 7-9 CL) in three sets on the road on Wednesday, October 26.
MVNU won by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-20. The story of the night was about senior setter, Paige Brenner. With her 40-assist effort against the Foresters, the Copley native surpassed 4,000 assists for her career.
Along with her 40 assists, Brenner added eight digs and two blocks. Also leading the lady Cougars on the stat sheet was Ashley Stumperth, who led the offensive charge with 12 kills. The senior also had 10 digs, and Erica Gasser had 11 kills for MVNU. Molly Galaszewski led MVNU with 11 digs on the night. Reagan Nuss and Jaelyn Tang each had 10 digs for the Lady Cougars.
