FRAZEYSBURG – Lucinda I. Austermiller, 74, of Frazeysburg passed away on Aug. 27, 2022, at Embassy of Newark. She was born on April 28, 1948, in Columbus to the late John Reed and Helen Virginia (Craig) Rhodes.
Cindy retired from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department and was a volunteer for the Bladensburg Fire Department. She enjoyed crafts, flower gardening and her cats.
She is survived by her husband, Bernie Austermiller; children, David M. Thompson, Jr., Bernard (Angel) Austermiller II, Brandi (Doug) Nissley, Christina (Clark) Schwenke and Kianna (Fred) Rumpke; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brother, John Reed Rhodes; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Valerie Rhodes, Lucy (Johnny) Argentis, Robert (Colleen) Austermiller, Bruce (Cindy) Austermiller, Benjamin Austermiller and William Austermiller.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Suzanne Phillips; brother, Terry Craig Rhodes; and brother-in-law, Frederick Austermiller.
Per her wishes, there will be no calling hours. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Interim Hospice or a cat shelter of the donor’s choice.
