MILLERSBURG – Charles Elmo Shepard, 89, of Millersburg died Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg.
Charles was born Jan. 15, 1933, in Liberty to Ennis and Mildred (Arnold) Shepard.
He joined the United States Air Force in 1953 for 4 years.
He married Jo Ann Fitzpatrick in 1952.
He worked at Owens Corning retiring in 1986. He liked fishing and spending time with family.
Charles will be deeply missed by his children, Charles Richard (Sharon) Shepard and Rick Lee Shepard, both of Mount Vernon, and Tina Marie Eberwine of West Lafayette, Tammy Caldwell, Danny, Steve and Jerry Shepard; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one step great-granddaughter; brother Bobby (Marie) Shepard; and several nieces and nephews, including Dale (Lou) Shepard.
Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Shaw; and a son, Michael Shepard; brothers Delbert and Howard Shepard; and a sister.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Eastview cemetery in Centerburg with Pastor Scott Reynolds officiating, where military rites will be held.
