MOUNT VERNON – Sharon Louise Booth, 78, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022, at the Knox Community Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 14, 1943, in Mount Vernon to the late Charles and Mary Ann (Hauger) Gallagher. She was a 1961 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. Sharon was a life member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School for over 47 years. She received the Distinguished Service Award for lifelong dedication for over 50 years of service at First Church of the Nazarene. Sharon loved to sew, cook, garden and had a passion for her children and grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Booth; her daughters, Sheryl (Doug) Rusher, Melissa (Dan) Booth Whited and Angie (Adam) Horn, who was like a daughter; her sons Scott (Beth) Booth, Jason (Marj) Booth; eight grandchildren, Jordan Booth, Alex Booth, Brandy Booth, Ryan (Miranda) Lobdell, JD Rusher, Breann Lobdell, Cameron Booth and Jake Booth; her sister Patricia (Paul) Jager; her brother Charles Gallagher II; and her special friends, Jeanell and Tom Branstool.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her son John C. Booth.
Friends may call on Friday, July 1, from 11-1 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene. A service will follow, beginning at 1 p.m., with Pastor Joe Proudfoot officiating. Burial will follow in Mound View Cemetery.
