COTC Knox campus visit day set for April 26

NEWARK – High school students and adult learners can register for an upcoming visit day to tour the campus of Central Ohio Technical College, see equipment and labs, engage with faculty and staff and learn about the certificates and degrees now offered in full at COTC’s Knox campus. 

Light snacks and drinks will be provided.

Ariel Hall, COTC’s Knox campus, is at 236 South Main St. in downtown Mount Vernon. The learning center offers 15 face-to-face and distance-learning classrooms and nursing, engineering technology, computer and other laboratory spaces.

For eligible students, COTC’s Knox Promise guarantees to fund the gap between tuition (instructional and general fees) and remaining student need after all other private scholarships and institutional, federal and state aid are exhausted. 

Under the program, all tuition will be covered for eligible students annually reporting a household income of $60,000 or less on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Knox Promise is open to new, current or returning COTC students who do not already hold a bachelor’s or associate degree and are current Knox County residents who have lived in the county for at least one year. 

The Knox Promise will be available in COTC’s upcoming autumn semester, which begins on Aug. 24. For full details about Knox Promise eligibility, visit go.cotc.edu/knoxpromise.

Students can start most of COTC’s 50+ career-ready associate degrees or certificates in health care, engineering, business and IT, or public safety at the Knox campus before completing the program at the flagship Newark campus.

Plus, students can complete the following programs entirely at COTC's Knox campus:

Career-ready associate degrees

  • Licensed practical nursing (LPN) to associate degree nursing (ADN)

Career-ready certificates

  • Bookkeeping
  • Electrocardiography technician
  • Industrial electrician 
  • Phlebotomy 
  • Patient care technician 
  • Practical nursing 
  • State-tested nurse aide (STNA) 

Students can also earn the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at COTC and then transfer to any public college or university in Ohio, saving thousands in tuition costs.
