FREDERICKTOWN – Molly Janet Collins, 86, of Fredericktown passed away on Tuesday evening, March 8, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 25, 1936, in Elkview, West Virginia, to the late Alonzo H. and Delcie C. (Strickland) Carpenter.

Molly worked for many years at Hi-Lo Trailer Co. in Butler. She worked at Jong Mea Chinese Restaurant in Mansfield and cooked at Bucks Tavern in Lexington, Doc’s Restaurant in Bellville and R&B’s Breeze Inn. Cooking was her connection to others and gave her great joy and satisfaction. Many felt very fortunate to have crossed paths with Molly; she was a very strong and gracious woman. She was a mentor and mother to more than her own and will be sorely missed.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening and canning. Above all, she loved playing cards and being surrounded by family.

Molly is survived by her daughters, Janet Wisenbarger of Mount Vernon, Robin (Barth) Coffing of Mount Vernon, Eva Catherine Nash of Centerburg, Johnnie (Tom) Kirkpatrick of Fredericktown and Georgia (Chris) Fliger of Loudonville; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Mary Hunter of Butler and Patty Bajarski of Cleveland; and numerous nieces and nephews, several of whom she claimed as her own.

In addition to her parents, Molly was preceded in death by a granddaughter, five brothers and five sisters.

In following with Molly’s wish, there will not be any services. A private inurnment will be held in Four Corners Cemetery near Butler.
