MOUNT VERNON – Marie Coffing, 92, of Mount Vernon peacefully passed away on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at Country Club Retirement Campus.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1929, in Knox County and was the daughter of Maurice and Edith (Busenburg) Beckley.
Marie is survived by her children, Randy (Bonnie) Coffing of Fredericktown, Lou Ann Coffing of New Albany and Connie McMurtry of Mount Vernon; daughter-in-law, Nancy Brooker; five grandchildren, Jason (Tracey) Whaley, Jeremy Coffing, Melissa (James) Matthews, Daisy Coffing and Rose (Kurt) Mills; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha (Burl) Billman of Gambier; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 2014; a son, Gary Coffing; grandson, Jamie Whaley; brother, Glenn Beckley; sister, Eileen Mills; and a son in law, Bill McMurtry.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 10-11 a.m. at Grove Church of Christ, where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dave Dahlstein officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery following the service.
The Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel is handling the services for the family.
