GAMBIER – Alan Paul Wolf of Gambier passed away on Feb. 3, 2022, at the age of 71 after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Alan is survived by his wife, Patricia (Van Paepeghem) Wolf; children Lauren (Spencer) Pearson and Eric (Lauren) Wolf; his grandchildren Reed, William, Jude and a baby girl on the way; his mother, Ruth Wolf; sisters, Dian (Bill) Praither, Mary Beth Wolf-Slack (Alan) and Doris (Skip) Bennett; mother in-law, Patricia Van Paepeghem; numerous, treasured brothers and sisters in-law; nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
Alan was born to Paul and Ruth Wolf and had a wonderful childhood growing up in Westerville. He obtained a teaching degree from Central Michigan University and had a successful career in the corporate world, though he believed his greatest accomplishment was being a father. Alan loved to make people laugh, loved nature and the outdoors, was a master of all home projects and simply loved life. He built a beautiful life filled with love with his wife, Patricia, over their almost-49 years of marriage.
Alan was preceded in death by his father, Paul H. Wolf.
There will be a private gathering celebrating Alan’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Alan’s memory for his memorial garden, which will be located on the property he loved so dearly in Gambier.
