MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon March for Life will take place from noon to 3 p.m. in downtown Mount Vernon on Saturday, Jan. 22.
The Knox County Young Republicans will host the March for Life, which begins in the Woodward Opera House with a crisis pregnancy center representative giving a pro-life testimony and a keynote address from David Mahan of the Center for Christian Virtue.
The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions. Dress accordingly and wear comfortable shoes.
The participants will then exit to Main Street and march north to make five passes around the Public Square. A prayer led by Pastor Adam Pursel of Lifepoint Church-Mount Vernon will follow. Attendees will return to the Woodward to call on legislators to protect unborn children and the women who carry them.
“While the Young Republicans are hosting this event, it is certainly open to anyone and everyone. We invite all our neighbors to attend and bring their friends and family,” said Tanner Salyers, president of Knox County Young Republicans. “The cause of life is a cause for us all.”
