BELLVILLE – Charlotte A. Cagnon, 80, of Bellville passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2022, at the Knox Community Hospital with her loving family at her side.
She was born on June 21, 1941, in Mount Vernon, to Arthur and Mary Ellen (Doup) Metcalfe. Charlotte was employed and retired from the Knox County Recorders Office with over 30 years of service. She enjoyed bicycling in Bar Harbor, Maine with her husband and was a member of the Tandem Club for over 10 years. She also enjoyed garage sales, card games, going to the casino and supporting her family in all of their sporting events throughout the years. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family and close friends.
She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, James Cagnon; her daughter Lois (Denver Risner) Cagnon; her grandson Jared (Shelbi) Cagnon; her mother Mary Ellen Metcalfe; and her brothers Tom (Roxanna) Metcalfe, Tim (Pat) Metcalfe and Dan (Desirae) Metcalfe.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her father Arthur “Art” Metcalfe and her sister Chris Whipple.
In keeping with Charlotte’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours. The family will observe a private gathering at a later date.
