MOUNT VERNON – Glenn A. Piar, 85, of Medina, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022, at home with his daughter and son by his side. He was born in Mount Vernon on April 10, 1936, to the late Oscar A. and Mary Alta (Frazee) Piar.

Glenn was a 1955 graduate of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic School. He retired from Sun Chemical, where he was the marketing manager. Glenn was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Glenn is survived by his daughter, Tammy Piar of Medina; a son, Terry (Linda) Piar of Hinckley and his children, Kathryn, Glenn, Kirk, and Samantha of Hinckley; a grandson, Stephen (Heather) Piar of West Salem and his daughter, Jazlynne; grandson, Christopher Piar of Amherst; a sister, Helen Phillips of Mount Vernon; brothers, John (Phyllis) Piar of Mount Vernon and James Piar of Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his wife, Maud Majbritt Margaretta (Mansen) Piar, on Feb. 23, 2011; son, Tim Piar, on Oct. 16, 2021; brothers, Charles, Ralph, Donald and Ronald Piar; and an infant sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon with the Rev. Father Dan Olvera as the Celebrant. Glenn will be laid to rest beside his wife, Maud, in Mound View Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Saint Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 303 East High St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
