CENTERBURG – Virginia Lee Crego went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021. She was born July 11, 1927, in Stamford, Texas. She was proud to be a Texan. Even though she came to Ohio as a young teen, she remained a Texan. She taught Sunday School and VBS for many years while a member of the Milford Church of Christ. Then, for several decades, she and Corwin were members of the Centerburg Church of Christ.
Virginia was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Berryhill; her mother, Ercelle Riggle; and her grandparents, Joel and Pearl Blackburn, who helped raise her. In 1946, she met and married Corwin J. Crego, who also has preceded her in death. Together, they had three children, Bill (Loretta) Crego of Utica and Roger (Randi) Crego and Jeanette (Jim) Nichols, all of Centerburg. Virginia is also survived by seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral =service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Centerburg Church of Christ, 3830 Columbus Road, Centerburg, where the family will be receiving visitors from 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment to follow at Eastview Cemetery.
