Gary Neal Rardin, 61, of Mount Vernon passed away on Saturday morning, Dec. 18, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Mount Vernon on Oct. 14, 1960, to Roger and Chrystal (Conant) Rardin.  

Gary graduated from the Mount Vernon High School and the Knox County Career Center. He worked as an electrician for Southern Automation in Tupelo, Miss. Gary loved being an electrician. He enjoyed the great outdoors that included gardening, fishing and mushroom hunting.

Gary is survived by his wife, Billie Jo (Phillips) Rardin; son, Morgan Thomas Phillips; his parents, Roger and Chrystal; sister, Brenda (Rick) McCament; brother, Mark (Debbie) Rardin; and brotherhood friends, Danny Geiger, Barry Debolt, Vernon “Rusty” Reddick, Aaron “Opie” Taylor and Ed (Cindy) Oaks.

 Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Gladys Conant, Florence Cooley and Henry Rardin.

 The family would like to thank Dr. William Elder and the Hospice staff for their care and support during Gary’s time of need.

 At Gary’s request, there will be no services.
