FREDERICKTOWN – Marilyn Joyce Pence, 92, of Fredericktown passed away on Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at her home with her loving family at her side.
She was born on Aug. 18, 1929, in Fredericktown to the late Kenneth and Leota (Deakins) Shipley. Joyce owned and operated Joyce’s Beauty Shop for over 74 years and only recently retired. She was a member of the Fredericktown United Methodist Church, the Chi-Signa-Lamia Mothers Club in Fredericktown, Berlin Grange and also the Fredericktown Senior Activity Center. Joyce was a participant in every Tomato Show Parade since it began except for this past year and for years planted the flowers on Fredericktown Square that we all enjoyed. She enjoyed playing Dominos, cards, Bingo and sports. She especially enjoyed traveling to a casino from time to time. But most of all, Joyce loved baking and the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her daughters Carole Trittschuh, Jackie (David) Montgomery, Tamara “Suze” (Rich) Roberts and Joellen (Dean) McGuire; eight grandchildren, Matt Trittschuh, Kyle Trittschuh, Ty (Heatherlyn) Thomas, Chas Thomas, Cody (Ashley Workman) Montgomery, Callie (Todd) Bertoch, Delaney (Kayla) McGuire and Madalaine (Cody) Warren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and her sisters Betty Grant, Vonda Turner, and Terry (Delmis) Gaddis.
