MARION – Deloris V. White, 79, of Marion passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 4, 2021, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
On Sept. 15, 1942, Deloris was born in Mount Vernon, a daughter of the late Clarence “Ike” and Edith (Burson) Belcher.
Deloris married John P. White on Aug. 27, 1961, in Richmond, Ind. They shared the last 60 years together as husband and wife.
For many years, Deloris was the bookkeeper for John’s trucking business, Central Ohio Trucking and later White Trucking.
Deloris enjoyed knitting and sewing, making many beautiful blankets. She liked playing Bingo and watching game shows and the Cincinnati Reds. She and John enjoyed traveling and going on cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska. Deloris loved her family dearly and had a special place in her heart for her grandson. She also enjoyed the companionship of her cats.
Deloris will be dearly missed by her husband, John, of Marion; two sons, James White and Mark (Lesa) White, both of Marion; grandson, Dalton (Lizabeth) White of Marion; great-grandchild, Logan White; two sisters, Kay (Richard) Nichols of Centerburg and Jeannette Saunders of Sparta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick and James Belcher; and a nephew, Lenny Saunders.
The White family will greet friends from noon - 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services to honor and celebrate her life will begin at 2 p.m. with Celebrant Galen McLeod officiating. Burial will follow in Bloomfield Cemetery.
