FREDERICKTOWN – Dale Loyd Beheler, 93, of Fredericktown passed away on Monday, Oct. 25, 2021, at Whispering Hills Nursing Center in Mount Vernon. He was born on Aug. 1, 1928, in Fredericktown, to the late Ross and Belle (Loyd) Beheler.

Over the span of his life, Dale owned and operated a filling station in Fredericktown, drove trucks, worked as a mason for Kokosing Construction and owned a small construction company that built and remodeled barns and other buildings. He taught several family members the construction trade. Dale also owned and operated a family farm. He served on the Berlin Township Board of Zoning Appeals.

Dale was a lifetime member of Palmyra Church of Christ. He sang in a men’s quartet, was a Sunday School teacher, served on the Building Committee and loved singing in the Choir. He participated in several mission trips to Colombia and Haiti. Dale also worked with Gideon organization, and with Fredericktown Historical Society for several years.

He loved to play cards with friends and family and loved his homemade ice cream! Dale always had time, no matter how busy he was, to stop and talk with neighbors who came by to visit. He loved helping other neighbors/farmers who needed help with their farm, cutting wood or whatever they needed. Dale and Margaret went to visit many neighbors riding in their “Gator” as they loved to visit people. Once Margaret passed away, he especially enjoyed breakfast with the senior citizen’s group in Fredericktown. Dad helped family members build their own homes. The family wishes to thank the staff at Whispering Hills for their care, and the many friends he made there during his stay with them.

Dale is survived by six children, Rodney (Joyce) Beheler of Indianapolis, Indiana, Vicki (Stephen) Bechtel, Gordon (Vickie) Beheler, Dana Beheler of Fredericktown, Renn (Debra) Beheler of Mount Vernon and Lisa (Jim) Cook of Fredericktown; son-in-law, Timothy Keller of Mansfield; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Mabel Weller.
