MOUNT VERNON – Frank E. Cumpston, 88, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Country View Nursing Home in Sunbury.
He was born on July 6, 1933, in Hundred, West Virginia, to the late Edward C. and Mary (Dye) Cumpston.
Frank was a United States Marine Corps veteran, and he honorably served on the Knox County Joint Veterans Council Honor Guard. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Colonial City Moose Lodge and the Ohio Eastern Star. Also, a life member of the Amvets and VFW.
Frank is survived by his wife of 67 years, Gayle (Haberland) Cumpston; daughters, Cindy, Donna and Lynnette; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon; with military honors being conducted by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
