MOUNT VERNON – Irene McMillan, 88, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021, at Country Court Nursing Home in Mount Vernon. She was born on July 2, 1933, in Mount Vernon, the daughter of Lewie and Alice (Henwood) Veatch. Irene was a 1951 graduate of Howard High School and worked many years for Rudin’s Department Store and Colonial Men’s Wear of Mount Vernon.
Irene enjoyed socializing and liked the companionship of family and friends. As most would say, she never met a stranger.
She is survived by her siblings; Dale (Paula) Veatch of Howard and Louise Samples of Mount Vernon.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McMillan, and a sister, Sharon King.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021, beginning at 2 p.m. in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. The Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of Irene McMillan.
