Area Agency on Aging selects 2021 Outstanding Senior Citizen for Knox County

The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on aging will present its Outstanding Senior Citizen for Knox County on Sept. 22 at Riverside Park. | KnoxCountyOhio.com

ONTARIO – The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc. announced Steve Frye has been selected as the 2021 Outstanding Senior Citizen for Knox County. The ceremony will be livestreamed on the Area Agency on Aging’s Facebook page at facebook.com/aaa5ohio/.

Frye will be honored on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at Riverside Park (Large Shelter No. 1), at 955 West High St., Mount Vernon. Social distancing measures will be taken, and masks will be encouraged. 

Each year, the Area Agency on Aging honors senior citizens who are making a difference in their communities and present a positive image of aging. There is one award recipient for each county in the agency’s service area (Ashland, Crawford, Huron, Knox, Marion, Morrow, Richland, Seneca and Wyandot).

The Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging Inc., at 2131 Park Ave. West in Ontario, 419-524-4144, provides leadership, collaboration, coordination and services to older adults, people with disabilities, their caregivers and resource networks that support individual choice, independence and dignity.
