FREDERICKTOWN – Jacqueline C. “Jackie” Douglas, 87, of Fredericktown passed away on Friday morning, Sept. 3, 2021, at her home. She was born on April 15, 1934, in Navarre, to the late John C. and Doris (Diekmann) Kick.
Jackie was a 1952 graduate of Dalton High School. She was an active member of the Palmyra Church of Christ near Fredericktown. Jackie operated her own banquet room in her home called the Fireside Banquet Room. She was also a cook for the Russell Cooper House and server for the Alcove in Mount Vernon. Jackie enjoyed canning, cooking, gardening, refinishing furniture, traveling with her late husband, Floyd, sewing, helping others but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Jackie is survived by her children, James (Jackie) Douglas, Phillip (Barbara Thomas) Douglas, Mark (Ruth) Douglas, Paul (Carla) Douglas, Joyce (Doug) Doup and Daniel Douglas; 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joanne (Gerald) Raack; brothers, Ronald (Linda) Kick and Carl (Kathryn) Kick; sister-in-law, Clarabel (Vaughn) Kurzen; brother-in-law, Jack Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Floyd Edsel Douglas; great-grandchildren, Dylan Hogue and Kayden Holmes; a sister, Janet Lewis; and a brother, Charles Kick.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Palmyra Church of Christ, 21184 Zolman Road, Fredericktown, where a memorial service celebrating the life of Jackie will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, with Evangelist Troy Northrop officiating. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service.
