DANVILLE – William Charles Meyers, 68, passed away at his home in Danville on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Trenton, Oct. 3, 1952, to the late Maurice and Ruth Hicks Meyers.
After graduating from Bowling Green State University, Bill taught welding and small engine repair. He then owned and operated Meyers Welding for 43 years doing oil field and farm repairs. For many years he was a Scout Master, 4-H adviser, shooting sports instructor and hunters' education teacher.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marsha (Hillard) Meyers; three children, Kristy Meyers, Jami Meyers and Lee (Kate) Meyers; three grandchildren, Charlotte, Charlie and Will Meyers; three sisters, Carol (Ray) Bermond of Plano, Texas, Janet (Phil) Burch of Charleston, S.C., and Sandra Kline of Middletown; nephews, Kurt (Danielle) Bermond and Samuel Kline; niece, Jennifer (Doug) Walters; brother-in-Law, Steve (Robin) Hillard; and close friends, Ted Bratton of Danville and Dave Nutter of Webster Springs, W.V.
A family service was conducted by Pastor Josh Lehman of Mount Vernon Baptist Temple. The family would like to thank KCH Oncology Department along with the caring staff at Hospice of Knox County.
