HOWARD – The Rev. Roy Lee Davis, 79, of Howard passed away on Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at his home.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1941, in Grundy, Va., to Cecil M. and Edith (Stiltner) Davis. As a man of God, Rev. Roy was honored to be the pastor of The Old Country Church. His love of music, hunting and witnessing God in nature gave him a creative and loving personality that will be missed by his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann (Kristian) Altepeter and Tracie Davis; his grandchildren, Travis (Amanda) Strouse, Blake (Tina) Strouse, Kelly Hostetler and Silas Alberts; his great-grandchildren, Lydia, Matthew, Alexis, Jocelyn, Rylee, Kaleb and Lillian; his mother, Edith Davis; his brothers, Neil (Alice) Davis and Dorse (Darlene) Davis; his sisters, May Street, Zella (David) Toney and E. Louise (Keith) Carroll; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rev. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Cecil M. Davis; and his brother, Cecil C. Davis.
A service will be held on Friday, Aug. 27, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. A graveside service will follow, beginning at 3 p.m., at Workman Cemetery in Danville.
