MOUNT VERNON – Timothy W. Harris, 63, of Mount Vernon passed away on Sunday, Aug. 15, 2021, at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon following a short illness. He was born on Oct. 20, 1957, in Mount Vernon, the son of Jimmy and Margaret (Jackson) Harris. Tim was a 1976 graduate of Johnstown High School, where he was a member of the Johnnies' baseball, basketball, and golf teams. Tim earned his degree from Ohio University and worked in quality control for Ward/Kraft in Fredericktown and Cardington Yutaka.
Tim was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge of Mount Vernon and enjoyed golfing, riding his bicycle, hiking and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. Tim also enjoyed watching his nephew play basketball for Mount Vernon High School.
He is survived by two sisters, Andrea (Ken) Belcher of Mount Vernon and Lynn (Ron) Moline of Lima; nieces and nephews, Shannon, Amber, Brittany, Cameron, Mackenzi, Nolan and Nash; and his canine companion Bella.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021, beginning at 1 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home, Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. A graveside service in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens will follow.
