MOUNT VERNON – Robert G. Rupel, 73, of Mount Vernon passed away at Knox Community Hospital on Aug. 9, 2021. He was born on Aug. 28, 1947, to Dewey Dale and Eunice Ophelia (Webb) Rupel in Elyria.
Robert worked for Sanoh America in Mount Vernon. He enjoyed fishing, reading science fiction books and doing anything outdoors. Robert was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemarie (Donato) Rupel; a daughter, Michelle Rupel of Columbus; a sister, Judy (Delbert) Knolhoff of Elyria; a brother, David (Terry) Rupel of Elyria; sister-in-law Joan Marie (Robert) Sells of Mount Vernon; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sara Rupel; and brothers-in-law Frank Donato and Michael Anthony Donato.
The family will observe a private burial in Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery at a later time.
