CENTERBURG – Katherine Lucille Park, 79, of Centerburg passed away Friday, July 30, 2021, at Grady Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Katie was born in Columbus on March 17, 1942, to the late Norman and Virginia Stevens. She graduated from Gahanna Lincoln Highschool in 1960 and married the love of her life, Ernie Park, in 1961.
Katie worked for the Ohio Department of Special Education for over 20 years. Described by her kids as kind, loving, and caring. In her free time, she enjoyed free hand painting, playing cards, listening to Elvis and, most importantly, spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Katie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ernie; and their wonderful dog, Lucy.
Left to cherish Katie’s memory are her daughter, Sherrie (Paul) Butler; her sons, Steve (Carol) Park, and Scott (April) Park; her brother, Larry (Sue) Stevens; her sister, Carolyn (Ralph) Fuller; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
Friends may call at noon Friday, Aug. 6, at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61 (at SR 3), Sunbury, where a funeral service will be held following at 1:30 p.m. with Donnie Noble officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Centerburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036 in Katie’s name.
