Master Marie Walker opened the Knox County Pomona Grange meeting on Monday, July 19, at 7 p.m. with a short version of a picnic, due to COVID concerns. The grange met at the picnic shelter house at Monroe-Dan Emmett with 19 members, one guest and two children present.

After having one year off, quarterly dues are due again.

Legislative Chairperson Sue Roy and Legislative Director Margaret Ann Ruhl will have a Zoom meeting on Aug. 12 at 10 a.m. to talk about state and federal legislation the Ohio State Grange is supporting, mostly working with Jenny Camper. All resolutions need to be in the Ohio State Grange office by Sept. 1 with no exceptions. Roy is also looking for two youth adult delegates to work with the other statewide delegates, ages 21 to 34.

The Ohio State Grange Convention will be Oct. 1-3 this year; it should be back to the later part of October next year.

The grange is sending $200.00 to the Buyer's Club to help with the 4-livestock sale. The July 17 Car Show made only $48 in sales, which will be used for pop and water at the Knox County Fair. A new sponsor of the golf cart at the fair is CES Credit Union.

Walker appointed JoAnn Walton, Lonnie Totten and Cathy Morey on the Nomination Committee. Membership Chairperson Etta Arnholt challenged everyone to get two new members to join the grange this next year.

Refreshments of ice cream drumsticks and sandwiches were served with bottled water. Next meeting is Monday, Aug. 16, at Morgan Grange, starting at 7 p.m., with the judging of crafts and photos.
