MOUNT VERNON – Carole M. Sweeney, 77, of Mount Vernon, passed away at her residence on July 21, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born on Oct. 11, 1943, to George and Mary (Busey) Heath in Syracuse, N.Y.
Carole was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid runner and enjoyed fast cars. Her favorite car was her 1965 T-Bird.
Carole is survived by her children, Brenda (Jeff) Moss of Acworth, Ga., Molly (Jerry) Strider of Mount Vernon, Heather (Craig) Knotts of Centerburg and Sean (Andrea) Sweeney of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica), Jason (Sarah), Brad (Arica), Jamie, Brett (Ella), Toni Lin, Evan, and Ainsley; great-grandchildren, Warren, Theo, Delilah, Sadie, and Emma Kathryn; and a cousin, Jerry (Judy) Spriggel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Sweeney; and her brother, George Heath.
Family and friends may call on Friday, July 30, from 10 a.m. - noon at the Lasater Funeral Home with a memorial Mass starting at noon. The family will have a private burial at St. Luke's Cemetery, Danville.
