MOUNT VERNON – Owen Joseph Quinn, 16, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, July 19, 2021, at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. He was born on Dec. 15, 2004, in Columbus to Patrick and Martha (Patterson) Quinn.
Owen was heading into his junior year of high school; he was a great athlete and was part of the Mount Vernon High School football and wrestling teams. He loved playing chess and was part of the Chess Club. Owen was a member of 4H and enjoyed showing pigs at the Knox County Fair. He attended Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene. Owen just started working for Modern Builders in Mount Vernon. He enjoyed skateboarding and watching the Cleveland Browns, but most of all he loved making people laugh at his unique humor.
He is survived by his mother; a brother, Kaleb Quinn; sisters, Ilene, Nicole, and Luci Quinn; grandparents, Connie Koontz, Jim (Chellis) Patterson; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Owen is preceded in death by his father, Patrick Quinn.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, from 1-4 p.m. with a funeral service starting at 4 p.m. at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene, 16001 Glen Road, Mount Vernon, OH 43050, with Pastor Scott Sharpes officiating.
