HOWARD – Linda L. Bebout, 79, of Howard passed away peacefully on Friday July 9, 2021, at her home in Apple Valley with her daughter at her side. Linda was born April 5, 1942, in Knox County, Ohio, to the late Elenore Jean Lepley Simpson and Warren B. Lepley. She retired from the Mount Vernon City Schools after 17 years of service.
She is survived by two children, Kathy J. Bebout of Howard and Kenneth H. (La Tina) Bebout of Mount Sterling; two grandchildren, Michael (Sabrina) Schirtzinger of Gambier and Chelsea (James) Taylor of Circleville; and three great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Piper Schirtzinger, and Lilith Taylor.
Linda enjoyed a wide variety of crafts. She particularly liked to sew, even making her daughter Karen’s wedding dress. Of course, people loved her pies, especially the peanut butter pie.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary L. Bebout; daughter Karen M. Bebout; parents; and stepfather, James Simpson. A private celebration of her life will be observed at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to family friend Mary Jane Burch and Interim Healthcare Hospice for the loving care they provided to Linda in her final days.
