NORTH LIBERTY – At approximately 2:19 p.m., law enforcement officers apprehended Darren L. Price at a residence in North Liberty.

Warrants for Price’s arrest had been issued after the June 17 incident when a Fredericktown police officer reported that the suspect had pulled a handgun and then fled from the scene of a traffic stop on Fredericktown Amity Road.

Tips from the public, as well as evidence and information collected by deputies and Ohio B.C.I. agents led to the issuing of warrants for Price’s arrest on June 22. The Mount Vernon Police Department provided information that led the Knox County Sheriff’s Office to reach out to the United States Marshal Service and their Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team for technical support and personnel to assist in locating and apprehending Price.

Price is currently being held in the Knox County Jail. The case remains under investigation.
