MOUNT VERNON – Scott Alan Taylor, 69, of North Port, Florida, formerly of Mount Vernon, peacefully passed away on June 21, 2021. He was born on March 24, 1952, in Mount Vernon to parents Roy and Frances Taylor.
Scott was a 1970 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He made a lifelong career as a machinist for Cooper’s in Mount Vernon; and PGT in North Port and Venice, Florida. He was a very family-oriented man with a huge, loving heart. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Susan Taylor of North Port; sons, Jeffrey Taylor of North Port and Wesley (Dana) Taylor of North Port; grandsons, Aiden Taylor of Ohio, and Jackson Taylor and Callan Taylor of North Port; brother, John Taylor of Cleveland; and nephew, Dean Taylor of North Port.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Kenneth Taylor and Howard Taylor.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Scott’s name be made to Tidewell Hospice.
