MOUNT VERNON – Kids in Mount Vernon with life-threatening conditions and their families are giving illness a time-out through “The Great A Kid Again Cook-Off Adventure In A Box.”

This Adventure from A Kid Again is part of the nonprofit’s effort to continue to serve children with life-threatening conditions and their families through ongoing Adventures in a virtual, safe way during COVID-19.

With this Adventure, families receive a fun box filled with all the ingredients needed to make a breakfast, lunch and dinner recipe at home, including Eggs in a Basket, Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup and Spaghetti & Meatballs. It also comes with a link to a recorded instructional video from A Kid Again ambassador and former OSU basketball star Greg Oden.

“Since COVID started, we have gotten really creative in how we’ve served our families in the era of social distancing,” said Travis Gulling, A Kid Again Central Ohio executive director. “These Adventures in a Box have been such a fun way for us to bring an Adventure to our families, helping them connect and make memories from the safety of their own home. It’s been great to see how we can continue our mission of giving illness a time-out in new ways.”
