MOUNT VERNON – Jean L. Piar, 88, of Mount Vernon, went to be with her Lord and Savoir on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021. She was born on Jan. 22, 1933, in Fostoria, Ohio, the daughter of Leo James and Madeline Lucy (Cook) Depinet. 

Jean worked as a social worker for Northside Manor Nursing Home, currently The Laurels. She was a religious lady and a devout Catholic. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Jean enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader and lived by the rules of her favorite show, "Judge Judy." She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Antonio) Piar of San Francisco; three daughters, Rhonda MacAndrew of Dallas, Madalyn Piar-Katter of Portland, Oregon, and Jacqueline (Cyrus) Thomas of Canton, Ohio; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Besides her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Piar; a son, William Piar; and two brothers, Frank Depinet and James Depinet.

The family will observe private services and burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
