GAMBIER – Thomas M. Russell, 47, of Gambier, passed away on Feb. 24, 2021, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Toledo on Oct. 28, 1973, to Thomas E. and Linda (Smith) Russell.
Tom graduated from Whiteford Agricultural High School in 1991. He was a journeyman tool and die maker and worked for Ariel Corporation for the past 14 years. He also taught adult education at the Knox County Career Center. Tom was a simple man. He loved his job, but his greatest joy was his three children.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sarah (Dixon) Russell, to whom he had been married for 24 years; daughter, Emily Russell of Toledo; twin sons, Jack and Luke Russell of Gambier; his parents, Tom and Linda Russell of Ottawa Lake, Michigan; brother, Corey (Shari) Russell of Ottawa Lake, Michigan; paternal grandfather, Richard Russell of Luna Pier, Michigan; mother-in-law, Mary Dixon of Toledo; sister-in-law, Rachel Kalas of Sylvania; brother-in-law, Daniel Dixon of Toledo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Theresa Russell; maternal grandparents, Darlene and Jack Smith; father-in-law, Donald Dixon; and brother-in-law, Andrew Dixon.
The family is planning a celebration of life service at a later date to be announced.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Hospital or to the Ronald McDonald House in Tom's memory.
