MOUNT VERNON — Betty Carol Seaton, 80, of Dayton and formerly of Mount Vernon and Winter Haven, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at the Southview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio.
She was born on June 14, 1940, in Mount Vernon to the late Chauncey and Betty (Bricker) Hayes. Carol was employed as an elementary teacher for over 29 years for the Mount Vernon City Schools, from which she retired. She was a member of the Knox County Retired Teachers Association and also the First Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her husband David Seaton; her son Gale (Sarah) Seaton; and three grandchildren, Garrett Seaton, Magdalena (Lena) Seaton, and Lucia (Lucy) Seaton.
A private service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, with Pastor Tim Hancock officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Chauncey and Betty Hayes Memorial Scholarship at Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
