The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Knox/Licking County will offer a virtual Zoom Family-to-Family eight-week-series education program beginning on Monday, March 8, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The class will meet virtually every Monday through April 26.
NAMI Family to Family is a course especially for family and friends of an adult having a mental illness, offering the knowledge and skills needed to cope with their loved one’s illness more effectively. The course is FREE and facilitated by NAMI-trained volunteer instructors. Registration is required to attend. A new peer support group, NAMI Connection Licking County, started on Jan. 6 in Newark, Ohio, and is available virtually and face-to-face. Face-to-face participants will meet at the Christian Endeavor United Methodist Church, located at 1415 Londondale Parkway in Newark. The group meets from 7:30-9 p.m. every Wednesday. COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place, and participants are requested to mask up.
NAMI Connection Thursdays will resume, with face-to-face meetings at the NAMI KLCO office located at 15 E. Vine St. Front beginning on March 4, 2021, from noon - 1:30 p.m. No registration is required. NAMI Connection is a peer support group open to adults having a mental illness. It is free.
A NAMI Peer-to-Peer eight-week-series class will begin on March 16, 2021, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the NAMI KLCO office, 15 E. Vine Street Front.
