FREDERICKTOWN — Linda D. Weikle, 70, of Fredericktown, passed away on Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on July 17, 1950, in Galion to the late George Morrison and Lena (Fleming) Morrison Smith.
Linda attended the Green Valley Southern Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. She retired after 29 years from Big Lots in Mount Vernon. Linda was an avid reader and helped with the Relay for Life. She loved spending time with her grandkids.
She is survived by her children, Jason (Carla) Weikle of Mount Gilead and Tara (Jason) Demers of Fredericktown; grandchildren, Stephanie Melvin, Steve Wagner, J.P. Weikle, Gerald Weikle and Graden Demers; great-grandchildren, Chayden Wagner, Brendan Melvin, Landon Wagner, J.P. Weikle III and Luke Melvin; brother, Sam (Lynda) Morrison of Edson; sisters, Kathy (Steve) Aller of Galion and Debbie Morrison of Bucyrus; many nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law, Hope; many children who called her Mom, especially Denise, Chad and David; her canine companions; and all her friends at Big Lots.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Gerald Weikle; her stepfather, Walter Smith; stepmother, Ruth Morrison; and a sister, Bengena.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at noon on Friday, Feb. 5, at the Snyder Funeral Home, 33 E. College St. in Fredericktown, with Pastor Dan Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in North Fork Cemetery near Fredericktown. Masks will be required, and social distancing will be observed.
