MOUNT VERNON – Joann Bemiller, 93, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living in Mount Vernon. She was born on Nov. 29, 1927, in Fredericktown, to the late Burton and Edna (Zolman) Vail. 

Joann was a nurse and worked for the Mount Vernon Developmental Center in Mount Vernon. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Ohio Eastern Star, Fraternal Order of Eagles and Colonial City Women of the Moose. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. 

She is survived by her children, Daniel Davidson and Melony (William) Woods; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Darlene Vail; nephews, Joel, Jay, Dave, Mike and Brent Vail; nieces, Linda Wantland, Judi Gaskill and Nancy Barr; and dear friends, Maggie and Rebecca Mortimer. 

Along with her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her first husband, Oscar Davidson; second husband, Carroll Bemiller; son, Dennis Davidson; brothers, Edwin Vail and Mac Vail; and sisters, Dorothy White and Leah Esterbrook.

A graveside service will take place at a later date.
