DANVILLE – Carol Joy, 81, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at The Laurels of Mount Vernon. She was born on April 26, 1939, the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Griffith) Boggs.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Vickie Mizer of Danville; her son, Paul Mizer of Florida; a brother, Roger (Loretta) Boggs of Newark; grandchildren, Amanda (Cameron) Sanchez and Kenny (Jessica) Mizer; and several great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Robert, Charles and Olive Boggs; her first husband, Robert Paul Mizer; her second husband, Silas Joy; sons, Vernon and Raymond Mizer; a half-brother, Richard Rose; and a half-sister, Dorothy Boggs.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, in the Workman Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Carol’s name to the Kidney Foundation of Ohio Inc. at kfohio.org. The Fischer Funeral Home in Danville is handling arrangements.
