MOUNT VERNON – James Straus Frye, 63, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at his home. He was born on Nov. 9, 1957, in Mount Vernon, to the late Rupert Straus and Joan (O’Dell) Frye.
Jim was a 1976 graduate of Mount Vernon High School. He worked in the maintenance department at Blubaugh Body and Frame in Mount Vernon. Jim was a Past Worthy President of the Eagles Lodge #760 in Mount Vernon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and his Canada trips that were a family tradition that spanned several generations.
He is survived by his sons, James Rupert Frye and Jason Frye; grandsons, Ethan James Frye and James Tyler Frye; sisters, Karen Hubbard and Joy (Larry) Wohlheter; his former wife and mother of his children, Brenda L. Frye; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a sister, Susan; and a brother, Robert.
A service celebrating Jim’s life will be held in the spring, and the family will send out the details to his family and friends.
